Shrek the Musical

I served as the Head Director for our production of Shrek the Musical, overseeing the overall creative vision and guiding students through the process of bringing this beloved story to the stage. Throughout the production process, I coordinated rehearsals, staged and blocked the show, and worked closely with student actors to develop strong character choices and engaging performances.

In addition to directing the cast, I managed many of the organizational and design elements of the production. I coordinated communication with parents and families, designed costumes for the show, and collaborated with our student costume crew as they brought those designs to life—encouraging them to think creatively and develop inventive interpretations of the many fairy tale creatures in the story. I also designed and programmed the lighting and supported the technical crew as they worked with Ms. Bower and learned the skills needed to execute the show successfully.

The production was a tremendous success, drawing large crowds from across the school and community who were excited to see this iconic story come to life on stage. Audience members consistently shared how impressed they were with the execution of the production and the caliber of the students’ performances and overall production quality. It was incredibly rewarding to watch the cast and crew collaborate, grow, and take pride in the final result of their hard work. I could not be more proud of out students and the show they put on!
